Here we lovingly share our favorite places in the area – from cozy restaurants and atmospheric bars to convenient supermarkets and local restaurants that simply deliver to your door. Ordering food to be delivered to the Hide-Away can be done via the Wolt app.
Our personal favorite restaurant to order delicious and healthy food through Wolt is "Restaurant Nelson."
Again, please note; the mailing address can NOT be found via navigation. So not even for Wolt delivery drivers. Therefore, always provide your phone number and possibly write in comments "The pistachio green house, next to the lake."
Clock Cafe Pizzéria
Just a 5-minute drive from the Hide-Away you will find Clock Pizzaria. DĂ© place in Hajduszoboszlo to eat an authentic Italian pizza or pasta Ă©n they are also dog-friendly. Besides pizza and pasta, they also offer salads and gyros on the menu.
Debrecen Forum
If you like shopping, FĂłrum Debrecen is "t1he place to go". It is beautiful large modern indoor shopping center with all the stores you can imagine. So especially when the weather is not so nice, this is a great place to look around and have an ice cream.
Debrecen Zoo and Amusement Park
Debrecen Zoo & Amusement Park is just a 25-minute drive from the Hide-Away. This unique park combines a classic zoo with a nostalgic amusement park – perfect for a relaxing day out.In the zoo you will discover more than 900 animals from all over the world, from giraffes to wolves and from exotic birds to curious monkeys. The natural and uncluttered layout also makes the park pleasant to visit for those who don't want crowds. The amusement park is located right next to the zoo and offers old-fashioned fun attractions such as a carousel, bumper cars, train and roller coaster – especially fun for families, couples or groups of friends who appreciate a bit of childhood fun. - Tickets are affordable and valid for both zoo and amusement park - There are several eateries, and in the summer you can have a nice picnic under the trees - Located in the Nagyerdő forest of Debrecen, a beautiful green area with much more to explore.
Hungarospa Thermal Spa and Aquapark
This is the largest swimming park in all of Europe! Not only do they have 13 pools, a wave pool, Jacuzzis and a sandy beach with a pirate ship and lighthouse in this giant park. But also a whole bunch of little stores and restaurants. Spa treatments and fitness facilities are also available. There is also an area, the "extreme zone" with cool high fast slides. The Aqua park (the outdoor part) is open 10:00–18:00 daily from June 14 to August 31. The thermal part (indoor and outdoor) is open all year round. And it is said that this water has healing powers.
MĂłkus Adventure Park
Unleash your inner adventurer at the Mókus Adventure Park, a fun climbing forest about a 12-minute drive from The Hajdu Hide-Away. Perfect for both children and adults who want to do something active among the trees.Opening hours:•Pre-season (May/June & September/October): 10:00–16:00 •Main season (mid-June to late August): 10:00–19:00
Nelson Restaurant
One of our favorite restaurants: In the heart of Hajdúszoboszló, housed in the town's only monumental building – formerly known as “Kis Bika” –you'll find this cozy restaurant & patisserie. The decor is inspired by Admiral Nelson, with warm, nautical elements. At Nelson they have a wide mix of international highlights and authentic Hungarian dishes on the menu. Highly recommended!
NyĂregyháza Animal Park, SĂłstĂł Zoo
Hungary's most beautiful zoo, a 1,5-hour drive from the Hide-Away. This zoo is often hailed as the best in the country and one of the top zoos in Central Europe. Why is this zoo so special? - Vast park: More than 30 hectares in a wooded area. - Spacious enclosures: The enclosures are naturally designed and offer plenty of space for the animals. - Large selection: More than 500 animal species – from polar bears, giraffes and elephants to rare monkey species - Oceanárium & Tropical House: With sharks, turtles and tropical fish. Unique in Hungary! And if you're in NyĂregyháza anyway.... Then drive by BBQ restaurant Smoke n Roses on the way back!!! Where the internationally trained BBQ chef creates the most delectable barbeque dishes! Located at Kert utca 37 in NyĂregyháza, for those who love authentic, sizzling BBQ-style dishes –with everything from slow-smoked beef to juicy burgers – Smoke N’ Roses is a must. The friendly atmosphere and welcoming chef make it extra special.
Szilfa Étterem
Another favorite where we (especially Jade) love to eat is Restaurant Szilfa. Located on JĂłzsef Attila utca, right across from the main entrance to the aqua park. This restaurant is attractively luxurious and they serve an extensive international menu. Why this is Jade her favorite? Because they have a dry-aging cabinet of sirloin steak, rib-eye and tomahawk steaks where you can choose your own piece of meat. And Jade loves steak!
Tiszai Kaland
Canoe, Sup, kayak or motorboat adventure on the Tisza! 71 km from the Hide-Away is the paradise for water rats: Tiszai Kaland, specializing in guided fun and adventure tours on Lake Tisza. Perfect for those who love to be active and in nature! What you can do there: Kayak & canoe (1–5 hours) – tours through picturesque waterways, with stops at the bird sanctuaries and view towers in the marsh area SUP tours – every Saturday and Sunday: relaxed but adventurous tours of the lake, including equipment Motorboat excursions – privé- or group tours (up to 15 people), ideal for those who want to explore the lake a little faster
